In true shampoo advert style, a male Dromaeosaur, in full mating season colours, shakes the water from his down after a rainstorm.
This was inspired by a photo I saw of a lion shaking water off his mane. I was also influenced by the artwork of Maxfield Parish and Wild West artist Mark Maggiori. I also experimented a little with metallic paints, using copper, silver and gold gouache on the feathers.
