This was done for From Hell’s Heart, an artbook celebrating the bicentennial of Herman Melville. I chose the ‘shark massacre’ scene from Moby Dick. The lighting was inspired by pencil drawings for ‘The Fog Horn’ by Jim Steranko in a collection of dinosaur-related stories by Ray Bradbury, which I loved. I also included an albatross and storm petrels nicknamed ‘Mother Kelly’s chickens.’
